Always Remember
Let’s all take a moment of silence for all the heroes we lost on 9/11 as this was one of the worst terrorist attacks on American soil. Not only was this a complete shock to America but to the entire world. Today we can see 9/11’s impact at airport security, in malls , and even in schools creating a lasting impact.
Dating back to August 11,2001, the CIA warns President Bush that Osama Bin Laden won’t be hesitant to attack on the U.S. The CIA warned president Bush that Al Qaeda members were in the U.S. planning attacks with explosives. The CIA was 100% right but they only found out when it was too late.
On September 11,2001, nineteen Terrorists hijacked four planes that were planned suicide attacks. Sadly at 8:45 am the first plane crashed into the 80th floor of the North tower of the World Trade Center in New York City. Eighteen minutes later the second plane hit in the 60th floor of the South tower leaving hundreds of people trapped. Fifteen minutes after , the south tower collapsed leaving lower Manhattan covered with dust and debris.
New York City was not the only placed attacked , in Washington D.C around 9:45 the west side of the Pentagon was hit. While another plane was heading for the White House and at 10:10 with help of the passengers on the fourth plane, it crashed into an opened field killing all 44 people on board. At 10:30 the North tower fell, in result of the twin towers falling, only six people survived the collapse. 18 people were rescued from the rumble. A total of 2,996 people died that died in a matter of 2 hours, for this day will forever be remembered.
To honor the tragic events of 9/11, the freedom tower, which is also known as One World Trade Center was built on April 27, 2006. People today, show honor to the police officers, the firefighters and many more who died that day. September 11th, 2001 will forever be remembered as the saddest day of America. No matter what time of year it is we must all show respect for all the lives lost and the families that were left impacted by this brutal day.
In nearly every town and city there is a memorial celebrating the brave lives lost on 9/11 , maybe next time instead of passing by you can take a minute to read name by name. That’s all it takes.
