Halfway Done
Here we are! The start of yet another marking period for our Cliffside Park High School, and unbeknownst to most, half-way through the school year! We are now in the third marking period, and that leaves only, one, fast-paced marking period left, in this 2017-18 school year.
It almost seems unreal, frightening to many, and an “omg finally” sigh of relief for most. As exciting as it is to realize we are almost done, there are many things we must stay on top of, that is brushed off when beginning school, in September.
To our Seniors, there is a sense of almost ending your high school years, which can be nerve-wracking, and alarming, as you are a heartbeat away from leaving the high school, and begin “adulting” in real life. It can be easy to be swayed by the crazy feeling that the closing chapter of high school life feels too far away to be real but do not forget that four months can go flying by, and before you know it, you each, hopefully, will receive a diploma. So Seniors, it is essential to stay on top of your game!
The very first thing to remember as a senior is to fundraise, fundraise, and wait… oh yeah, FUNDRAISE! Prom, and many other fun activities planned for this year have to be supported from somewhere. Fundraising is a crucial part of senior year! Class of 2018, also remember to support Mr. and Ms. CP coming up, as well as paying dues that are still floating around to make sure this year is a memorable one!
Unfortunately, Senior year is jam-packed with applications, papers, and much craziness, so keeping up with forms, and all other documents for college is extremely important! College decision dates are right around the corner!
To the Juniors, this year is also, one of the hardest years by far. The pressure, and stress gained throughout this year is innumerable, and very much understandable, as the word SATS must be ringing in your brains twenty four seven. Sadly, this is also almost here, so keep up with Prep Classes, and studies to give you an advantage. Of course, you are in the same boat, as Seniors, to fundraise, and fundraise, and again, fundraise! You can make it to senior year; we believe in you!
Sophomores, the fear of the driving test is over! This might well be the epitome of tenth grade. You are almost at the high school halfway mark! Now it is time to concentrate on classes, it will soon be time to start looking at yourself as a young adult. Sophomore year is a tricky one, you have the knowledge the freshman lack but still remain an underclassmen. All those growing pains will soon end. Many exciting opportunities are on the horizon for our Class of 2020!
Freshmen, oh freshmen. Your toes have just barely begun to touch the highschool waters, but that should not stop you from getting your act together with your eye on electives as you progress! A word of advice: sit down, and buckle up. You are halfway done with your first year of highschool! How are you liking it so far? Baby steps are key for this year, but you are making it! There is much to come in the future, and it can be safely said, you have a long way ahead, so enjoy the ride while you can!
To all of CPHS students, we are almost there, and we can make it! Keep your eye on improving and your attention to upcoming assignments, opportunities and the (dreaded) PARCC. Before you know it we will be at the end, finally finishing up this year with bittersweet moments.
