Black Panther Dominates the Screen
I’m sure most of you reading this have already seen the marvelous Black Panther movie, but as for this review my love for this film is going to shine brightly.
For those of you who haven’t seen Black Panther here is the basis. After the death of T’Challa’s father he returns to his home in Africa, Wakanda. As he returns, he is crowned king until an enemy appears to take his place as Black Panther.
Throughout the film T’Challa is challenged for his position as king and faced with dangerous matters. T’Challa must gather his allies to secure his place in Wakanda. While reading this it may seem like another Marvel movie, but the message behind this film is what makes it so revolutionary. This movie challenges the non inclusive movie industry.
Black Panther is the first movie in a very long time that we are seeing African American people in the center of it. By focusing on cultures often omitted from the media spotlight it created a social bond among people around the world. #WelcomeWakanda became a trending topic on twitter in which people expressed how Black Panther made them feel and how their culture was expressed.
Right now, Black Panther is the highest rated superhero movie on Rotten Tomatoes, Black Panther has surpassed pre sales in all superhero movies, and it beat all the box office records. Who knew a superhero movie could feel so revolutionary? Wakanda is forever.
