Teacher Appreciation
The teacher has been a sacred and honest calling since ancient times. He is the teacher of generations and their educators. His honorable profession is the cause of the advancement of mankind and the development, sovereignty, and advancement of nations. Other professions have allocated a day to honor and appreciate and thank him for his continuous service and called this day teacher day.
The official celebration began on this day in 1994, at the recommendation of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, although the teacher's appreciation was found in societies thousands of years ago. Noble societies have honored the teacher since learning was found on this earth.
A famed Islamic author puts teachers at the top of the ranks with his famous words saying: "Who taught me characters, I was a slave." This symbolizes the value of the great teacher, because he brings people from the darkness of ignorance to the light of knowledge. Without the teacher, there would not be doctors, engineers, or lawyers. Only the teacher can transform the ignorance of humanity into inexhaustible pursuit of knowledge. He is the only one who can remove from the eye the blinding of ignorance and the heart of the lack of passion.
I appreciate all of my teachers, as an ESL student they did help me a lot. The teacher that I'm most grateful for is Mrs. Bayon, she is one the best teachers that I ever had. Not only with me, but with all her students she works hard and puts as much effort as is needed into getting her students prepared to leave ESL.
Every one of us has a teacher who changed our outlook and our lives; this is the day for each of us to say thank you to our teachers. Take a moment to let your favorite teachers know how much they mean to you!
