Welcome Back!
Vacation is over now, here we go back again. You're probably feeling excited and maybe a little sad that summer is over. Some students feel nervous or a little scared on the first day of school because of all the new things: new teachers, new friends, and maybe even a new school, but there are many ways to start the school year on a positive note.
Freshmen: Get involved, there are so many ways to become a part of the school. One of these ways is to join clubs, sports, activities after school, etc. Another way is to be organized and get into a routine; trust me, it will help a lot. Be brave! The most important thing is to keep in mind that you will do great this school year.
Sophomores: It might be the hardest year, so take it seriously, as a sophomore I’m already struggling. We are teens; we want to go out and not do homework, but we have to.
Juniors: You are so close to the end of your way. Be careful on your tests, and start making your plans for college and beyond. You are now upperclassmen and the younger students will look to you for how to act, be sure to be positive role models!
Seniors: This is your last year at CPHS, so make it the best year, but also get all the things you need for college done. Be aware of the pitfalls of senioritis and don’t get trapped in it too early to graduate. Good luck:)
To everyone: Remember what it feels like to feel out of place, stand up when you see someone being bullied online or in the school and don’t bully each other. Try to build a good relationship with teachers and your classmates. From the first day forward, you can help your friends decide whether the school is drudgery or a serious undertaking that can be both rewarding and enjoyable. If you give the impression that being in class is a chore for you, improve yourself. Select one area in which you'd like to improve your expert knowledge during the school year. Then decide how best to go about it.
Last but not least I would like to welcome all the new student at Cliffside park high school and greet all the teachers. We are looking forward to a great year.
