CPHS CAAD Program
Beginning in the 2019-2020 school year, Cliffside Park High School will be offering students in their junior year the opportunity to earn an Associate Degree in Arts or Science from Bergen Community College (BCC).
Cliffside’s Academy for an Associate’s Degree (CAAD) program will be provided for a reduced rate of approximately $7,000. Students participating in CAAD will simultaneously be working toward earning their high school diploma from Cliffside Park High School and an Associate’s Degree upon graduation. The high school will provide transportation for CAAD students who, Monday through Thursday, will spend the first half of their school day at CPHS and the remainder of the day taking courses at Bergen Community College. The college credits earned through the program are accepted by all New Jersey state schools and the majority of universities nationwide.
Cliffside Park High School has other opportunities to earn college credits without being in the CAAD program. We offer over 60 credits in English, Math, Science, Foreign Language, and a variety of electives through dual enrollment courses. Seniors at CPHS can also join BCC’s Early College Program where they can take classes at the college campus a few days a week and can earn between six and twelve college credits.
All of these opportunities are great ways for students to get a head start on their college education while saving money and still being able to participate in high school athletics and activities.
