Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in CPHS!
“Go Red Raiders!” is our signature cheer throughout most of the school year at CPHS, but for this month, it is “Go pink Raiders!” During the month of October, every fall sport will support Breast Cancer Awareness in distinct ways.
The boys varsity soccer team wears pink jerseys during their games along with junior varsity. The volleyball team also wears pink jerseys for all of their games during the fall season. Girls varsity soccer, on the other hand, plans to sell shirts to raise awareness of breast cancer. The girls junior varsity soccer team has sold wristbands, and funds will be donated to an organization that holds a Breast Cancer Awareness walk every year.
Breast cancer is a disease that has devastated families worldwide and affects all types of women and men. Breast cancer occurs when the cells in the breast grow out of control. There are countless ways that people around the world can participate and get involved during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
You can participate in walks, organize fundraisers, volunteer, or donate to charities that work to spread awareness. Some well-known charities are the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, National Breast Cancer Foundation and many more. One of the most successful charities is the Susan G. Komen Foundation. It is the world's largest network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all, and push science to find cures. They have contributed more than $988 million to research and another $2.2 billion to education, screening, and treatment.
The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is a non-profit organization that has raised $569.4 million to support clinical research on breast cancer at medical institutions. Look for a way you can contribute and promote the awareness of breast cancer and make a change today!
