Dance Team 2021 - 2022 Season
Everest Saric
The 2021—2022 winter season has come to an end for the dance team. This season was full of many challenges. However, it was also full of many victories!
This season, just like the last one, had many challenges. As a result of COVID-19 restrictions and regulations, it was difficult to navigate competitions. Unfortunately, the dance team was unable to compete at as many competitions as they had hoped. However, the team was able to attend the Pascack Valley Sweetheart Invitational; there, the team retained their title as Varsity Hip Hop Champions. During the team’s inaugural season, the team competed at the invitational and won their second first place title of that season. The dancers were extremely excited and thankful to return to the invitational this year and are excited to have a normal season next year. Coach Courtney, Coach Ashley and the team would like to thank Pascack Valley High School for hosting the invitational and offering it to teams throughout the state. The coaches would also like to thank the Pascack Valley dance team and their coach for running a smooth, well-coordinated, fair, and fun competition.
As the team’s juniors and seniors returned to the competition, they experienced déjà vu. The senior members were excited to share the experience with younger athletes, for whom this was their first competition. There will be three seniors graduating: Brianna Lopez, Elke Rundlett, and Isabella Caduo. They have all been part of the team since the inaugural season, and have been incredible assets. Brianna, Elke, and Isabella are effective teammates and athletes. Their team and coaches wish them the best of luck in college, and are proud to have them as dance team alumni.
The coaches are very excited for the upcoming season and are hoping to expand the program. Anyone interested in trying out for the team next season can follow @cliffsideparkdanceteam on Instagram, all the interest info will be posted as the new season approaches. Feel free to reach out to any of the team members or the coaches with any questions you may have.
