Experience with the Boy’s Volleyball Club

Written by: Juan P. Vinasoc

Volleyball is one of the sports that greatly influenced people during the school year. Volleyball is a sport that requires hard work and, most importantly, communication with your teammates. Discipline is also required in order for your coach to help you in whatever you may need, what you have to improve, and your coach gives you the necessary tools for that. This year I decided to practice volleyball and the experience was unique.

On Mondays after school I had a great reason to learn new skills and learn volleyball and play it. The volleyball ball left marks on my arms, and my legs ended up with little damage but I learned something for myself that I never discovered until I played volleyball. It was a big change for me to see how I was able to accomplish my goals, as well as seeing my friends, we were able to help each other to improve and as Coach Camua said communication is everything. The skills we learned were how to listen to our teammates, it was one of the tools that was key to listen, and we tried to make and improve with your team by working as one. Practice makes you improve in what you do. Practice lasted 6 weeks in a row. What started as a club ended up being a team that will be formed in another year thanks to the fact that the people said the best of it. We fulfilled the goal of making a team and they kept working with me to help improve in all aspects. We also had the support of the volleyball girls, they came and helped us in practice and supported us and taught us how best to do what we needed. It was great to see how the girl’s volleyball team helped the men without fighting over which was better. But work in all aspects and this demonstrates how we are human to help each other.
