Football Season 2022
Welcome to your monthly football update! Grab your Raider gear as we dive into all things CPHS football!
Our current team captains are Jeremiah Turner, Tony Cruise, Devin Estrada, and Ihsaan Hasan. Ihsaan Hasan is also in the running for player of the week. The team has Rainer Moscat and Clayton Crabrara as returning star players. All of these athletes have the qualities of good leaders. They are selfless, hardworking, and dedicated. They lead by example and show their team what it means to be an exceptional player.
Some may view football as just a sport, but for many, football is more than that. Coach Mandile explains, “It teaches you important life lessons, like how to handle adversity. Football is a mental and physical grind that helps players understand how to place themselves in a position to be successful. The best thing about coaching this sport is the relationships with student-athletes, which last even after high school.”
Unlike many sports, football is 90% practice and 10% play. The Red Raiders are currently practicing for their next game on Saturday. At the end of the season, Coach Mandile hopes every player will see that wins and losses do not matter. The work that each player puts in and how they overcome mental and physical adversity matters.
I hope to see all of you this Friday as we battle (and defeat) Kearny High School. The Courier wishes the football team a successful season! GO RAIDERS!
