How to Save Your Halloween

To many of us, the year 2020 may feel like a curse. Between constant closures and cancellations, most of us are looking forward to having at least one holiday where we can get together with friends and family. If only there was an upcoming holiday that could bring us all together and everyone could enjoy… Halloween! Yes, you read that correctly, Halloween is not cancelled this year! Of course, everyone is still advised to follow all COVID-19 safety guidelines, but there are still many fun activities you can do with a close group of friends or family.

  • If you are going out and dressing up, I know you are going to hate hearing this, but wearing a mask would actually be socially acceptable. You and your friends can still have a blast with costumes and protective masks.

  • How about someplace that would make you jump or frightened? An outdoor haunted house attraction would be perfect. Or would you enjoy nature? Go to a pumpkin patch or apple picking!

  • If you'd prefer to get creative this Halloween, I recommend going to Youtube or Pinterest to find DIY activities to do with friends or family. Some fun ideas are making paper lanterns, carving designs into pumpkins, and making other cute Halloween decor.

  • If you would rather stay in, you can celebrate Halloween with a wide variety of brilliant Halloween movies. Matched with delicious snacks and warm blankets, a Halloween movie night could be the perfect alternative to heading out.

  • You could also try baking or cooking up some new fall recipes, as they can always be great bonding experiences. You can try making sweet treats like like pumpkin pie, pumpkin cheesecake, or Halloween cookies.

  • Take some time to either buy or create Halloween costumes and use them to have a photoshoot with friends or family!
