Interviewing Mr. Lombardo

Written by: Rosaly Gomez

The 2023 Cliffside Park High School year is ending on a sad note. Our beloved vice principal Mr. Lombardo will unfortunately no longer be working at Cliffside Park High School. I was fortunate enough to interview Mr. Lombardo on his departure as well as his time in Cliffside Park High School.

Q: How long have you been at Cliffside Park High School?

I have been at the HS coaching for 11 years Soccer Basketball, Baseball. Was Athletic Director for 7 plus years and Vice Principal for 6 years

Q: What was your previous position(s) prior to Vice Principal?

Physical Education Teacher at the Middle School for 10 Years Athletic Director for 7 Plus years at the HS.

Q: Where are you going to be moved to?

Moving to the CP Middle School to be Vice Principal

Q: What will you miss most/least about the high school?

I will Miss the Students that put in the effort at school, made an improvement over the school year academically, discipline wise, and attendance. This showed me that having these conversations with the students really helped them become all around students. I will miss the staff. It's a great staff that has the students' best interest in mind. I appreciated their support over the years. I will not miss running around all day.

Q: What are your plans for the future in your new position?

To continue to teach the students how to develop skills to make them a positive part of today's society. Make sure they are ready to come to the High School and learn to get involved in clubs, athletics, and the academies.

Q: What advice would you leave the students/staff of cliffside park high school?

The future is what you make of your time at CPHS. Work hard, make the most of your 4 years, it goes fast, Don't leave any stone unturned. Set multiple alarms to help you get to school on time, and treat people the way you want to be treated. All the best

Thank you to Mr. Lombardo for helping out with this article. The Cliffside Park High School Newspaper would like to thank him for all work and efforts at our school. Wishing him all the best at Cliffside Park Middle School.
