Message from the Principal
Summer is almost here. Please ensure all obligations are completed before the close of school.
Before we leave I would like to extend a special thank you and good luck to Mr. Lombardo who will be transitioning to the Middle School in the fall of ‘24. Mr. Lombardo has diligently served as a Vice-Principal at the high school. He has impacted a number of students in a positive way. Mr. Lombardo bleeds Raider red, and while I am sad to lose him at the High School, I know he will serve the Middle School well. Students coming to the High School will be better prepared for the expectations and levels of accountability. He is very familiar with our programming and our vision, which will only benefit the high school in the long run.
Additionally, congratulations and good luck to Mr. Jannucci. Mr. Jannucci was recently appointed as a vice-principal to replace Mr. Lombardo at the High School. Mr. Jannucci is currently the Supervisor of Social Studies and Foreign Language in the district and we expect Mr. Jannucci to transition smoothly.
Finals for all ½ year and full year courses should take place in the designated window
Students with an average of 90 or higher are excused from the final
Students with attendance appeals, regardless of status, are required to sit for the entirety of the final.
Guidance must be notified of students who are scheduled to attend and do not attend a final
Make-up exams are for students with legitimate documentation submitted to the office, i.e. road test, medical emergency, etc…
Scheduling:
It has come to my attention that students are not happy with the need to complete additional requests for scheduling. This request is motivated by a number of reasons, but the primary one is that this is a school and students are expected to go to class and learn.
Students wanting an AM schedule, so they can work in the afternoon, will be provided an opportunity to complete a waiver by both their employer and parent/guardian.
Students wanting a PM schedule, so they are not late/absent from late shifts, will be provided an opportunity to complete a waiver by both their employer and parent/guardian.
However, students in need of five or six classes will be scheduled for additional classes so students do not have large blocks of time without instruction.
