The Wellness Club

The Wellness Club at CPHS began just last year with the goal of addressing the stigma around mental health. Our club advisor, Ms. Romano, has many plans for the 2020-2021 school year. As a member of the club, I can say that our main mission is to bring attention to the importance of both mental and physical health.

At the moment, we do not have a president, as we are still in the process of determining leadership roles for our participants. The Wellness Club was created to stress the importance of maintaining physical and mental health, especially in these challenging times. We aim to end the stigma surrounding mental health issues and bring attention to different ways of improving one’s overall well-being. We also focus on improving the school’s culture and environment for both students and staff.

Our biggest goal for this year is to put the peer mentorship program into action. We want our students to feel connected to one another, despite not being able to socialize in person. 2020 has brought with it a variety of stressors and challenges. Now, more than ever, it is important to bring attention to how important it is to be mindful of your mental health and overall well-being.

As a member of the Wellness Club, I can say that it is a great club for students to join who want to express their opinions and initiate change. The Wellness Club gives students the opportunity to share their thoughts and think outside the box with the constant support of other students and advisors. Everyone has gone through a hard time this year in one way or another, which is why the Wellness Club is so important here at CPHS. Participation in this club will provide you with the tools needed to be mindful of your feelings and take good care of your mental and physical health. Feel free to contact Ms. Romano, as we are always open to new members!
