Bonus: Fairview Abandoned Railroad
The NYSW railroad is the only railroad in New Jersey that travels under the Fairview Cemetery. Overall it stretches from the Fairview Cemetery to the Palisades in Edgewater. In 1892, this railroad was used for the New York Susquehanna Western Railroad Company but was abandoned in the late 1960s. The railroad was primarily used to get coal from Pennsylvania to the Hudson River water frontal docks. There are many local legends about this abandoned railroad ranging from the ghost of a dead little girl to wild dogs roaming in packs throughout the railway. It is definitely a strange location that only those with a brave soul will dare to explore.
Cliffside Park is a town full of history, culture, and attractions that appeal to many. I hope every resident has the chance to get to know their town a little bit more through some of these attractions. Enjoy Cliffside Park!
