Wonder Girls Program
Karen Rodriguez Blanco
Wonder Girls is a program that empowers young girls with leadership, confidence, business skills, and wellness. This program brings together a remarkable variety of diverse professional women. The founders of Wonder Girls, Natalie Maniscalco and Irene Zervoudis, came together to help and empower young girls to work hard and succeed. They are currently doing their workshops in Nyack Center, NY, and Cliffside Park High School, NJ. The program has workshop days and volunteer days. The program invites girls from the community to join together and make important changes in their communities by helping others and themselves.
Wonder Girls also offers scholarships to those who join their program. To be eligible, you must participate in the Wonder Girls program for at least a year, have 10 hours of community service, and have some type of academic achievement. It is a great opportunity to get a scholarship and have fun simultaneously.
The program has already had two workshops and one volunteering day at Cliffside Park High School. This is what one of the girls that has been attending this program so far has to say: “Being a wonder girl means embracing and cultivating the power you possess. It also means enabling and helping other women to discover their own power!”
Wonder Girls is going to celebrate their one year anniversary on December 15, 2021. This year, they have accomplished a lot through in-person programs and online programs. They have reached more than 150 girls, run more than thirty program hours, raised $50,000, and had a feature on NBC.
They are still trying to achieve more and reach other communities. To help support the Wonder Girls program, you can donate using this link: Rockland Community Foundation Campaigns
Wonder Girls is an amazing program where girls come together, make friends, and get out of their comfort zone. I’m excited to see what else their future holds!
